Rosati’s Pizza is preparing to open at 25166 S. Ellsworth Road, Suite B101, in Queen Creek, between the Johnson Ranch and Power Ranch neighborhoods. Before the restaurant can serve beer, wine, or cocktails at the table, it needs a liquor license — and that vote is set for October 7, 2026 at a Queen Creek Town Council meeting.
If you live near Ellsworth Road, here’s what changes for your family
Right now, the Ellsworth Road corridor between Johnson Ranch and Power Ranch does not have a sit-down pizza restaurant with a full bar. If the Town Council approves the liquor license on October 7, that changes. You would be able to walk in for a weeknight slice with a beer, grab a pizza with wine on a Friday, or order cocktails alongside your food — all at a location built for dine-in, not just pickup.
For families in both neighborhoods, the address matters. The new spot sits squarely between the two communities, making it a realistic dinner option without driving across town. The restaurant will also offer takeout and delivery once open, so the convenience extends to home orders too.
No opening date has been announced yet. Construction is in its final stretch, but the Council vote on October 7 is a required step before the restaurant can legally pour a drink inside.
What’s opening: Rosati’s Pizza at 25166 S. Ellsworth Road, Suite B101
The new location is a Queen Creek address — ZIP code 85142. Once open, Rosati’s corporate site lists planned hours of Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The phone number listed is 480-919-0500. The brand’s own franchise page still labels the Ellsworth Road location “COMING SOON” as of the latest update.
Services will include dine-in, carryout, delivery, and catering.

Who owns the new Ellsworth Road location
Lee and Heather Kroll are the franchise operators behind the new restaurant. They are multi-unit operators who already run several Rosati’s locations in Arizona. Heather Renee Kroll is the named applicant of record on the Series 12 liquor license filed with the Town of Queen Creek.
The October 7 Town Council hearing — and what it means
The Queen Creek Town Council will consider the liquor license application at its Regular Session on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting takes place at Community Chambers, 20727 E Civic Parkway, Queen Creek. The Council holds final decision authority on this application.
The application went through the required public notice process first. Notice ran in the Arizona Business Gazette – Republic Edition on September 10 and 17, 2026. The newspaper posting date was September 24, 2026. The agenda document is on file with the Town at the Granicus agenda portal for the October 7 session.
This type of hearing is open to the public. If you have questions or comments about the application, the October 7 meeting is the formal opportunity to raise them before the Council.
What a Series 12 restaurant liquor license actually means for diners
A Series 12 license is a non-transferable, on-sale retail privileges license tied to restaurant operation. Under Arizona law, it lets a restaurant sell and serve beer, wine, and spirits for consumption on the premises. The establishment must derive at least 40 percent of its gross revenue from food sales to qualify.
On-sale means the drinks stay inside the restaurant. A Series 12 does not allow carry-out liquor sales — that is a different license type. So if the Council approves the application, you can order a cocktail with your pizza at the table, but you cannot walk out with a bottle of wine.
Ellsworth Road vs. Hunt Highway: two Queen Creek Rosati’s, one family
The Krolls also operate the Rosati’s at 287 E Hunt Highway, Suite 108, Queen Creek, AZ 85143 — the Johnson Ranch location. That address carries a different ZIP code (85143) from the new Ellsworth Road site (85142). Both locations are within Queen Creek town limits, but they serve different parts of the community. The Ellsworth Road restaurant is a distinct second location, not a relocation.
Construction update: where things stand right now
As of the most recent report, work at Suite B101 was nearing its final stages. New kitchen hoods were set for inspection, and a second oven was still expected to arrive. No opening date has been set. The liquor license hearing on October 7 is one of the remaining steps before the doors open.

About Rosati’s: sixty years of Chicago-style pizza
The first Rosati’s Pizza opened in Mount Prospect, Illinois, in 1964. The brand has since grown to more than 120 locations across the country. The Krolls operate multiple Arizona franchises within that network.
The October 7 vote, and what comes after
The next public milestone is the Town Council Regular Session on October 7, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Community Chambers, 20727 E Civic Parkway. The Council will vote on Heather Renee Kroll’s Series 12 application for the Ellsworth Road location. If approved, the Krolls can move toward a final opening date. If the license is not approved, the restaurant can still open — but it cannot serve alcohol inside.
No opening date has been announced. Watch this page for updates after the October 7 hearing.
