Five national brands are joining Tempe Marketplace in 2026. Carhartt is already open. KUIU is targeting summer 2026. Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, and Glo Tanning are all slated for late 2026. Together they add more than 25,000 square feet of new retail to the 1.3 million-square-foot open-air center at Loop 101 and Loop 202.
If you shop the East Valley, this changes your weekend routine
Until now, finding a Carhartt store in the Phoenix metro meant a drive to Flagstaff or ordering online. That changed when Carhartt opened its 6,000-square-foot standalone store at 15 S. McClintock Drive. It is the first Phoenix metro Carhartt location — a real store where you can try on work boots and feel canvas before you buy.
KUIU is a bigger deal for outdoor enthusiasts. The brand sells premium backcountry hunting gear and has been online-only in Arizona. When its nearly 6,000-square-foot store opens this summer, it will be the only place in Arizona to handle KUIU gear in person. If you have been guessing on fit for a mountain hunt, that matters.
The late-2026 additions shift the mix toward fashion. Coach brings a full-line handbag and accessories store. Tommy Hilfiger adds men’s and women’s apparel. Both land between Lululemon and J.Crew, anchoring a stretch of the center that already draws lifestyle shoppers. Glo Tanning rounds out the wave with UV tanning, spray tans, and red light therapy — a spa-style experience rather than a strip-mall tanning booth.
For the East Valley more broadly, all five leases land at an open-air freeway center instead of an enclosed mall. Chandler Fashion Center and SanTan Village did not land these tenants. Tempe Marketplace did.

What’s new at Tempe Marketplace: five stores, roughly 25,000 square feet of retail
Carhartt — open now. The 6,000-square-foot store at 15 S. McClintock Drive is Carhartt’s first standalone location in the Phoenix metro area. Carhartt does operate two other Arizona standalones — one in Flagstaff and one in Tucson — so Tempe is the brand’s third Arizona location overall, but the first the Valley has had.
KUIU — summer 2026. No specific date has been announced. KUIU currently runs retail stores in California, Colorado, and Texas. The Tempe Marketplace location will be its first in Arizona. The brand focuses on premium performance gear for backcountry hunting, and it has built a strong direct-to-consumer following. A physical store lets shoppers size packs and layers in person before a hunt.
Coach — late 2026. The 4,500-square-foot full-line store lands between Lululemon and J.Crew. Coach already runs ten Arizona locations across six cities, but has no Tempe location. This will be its eleventh in the state and its first in Tempe.
Tommy Hilfiger — late 2026. At nearly 6,000 square feet, the Tommy Hilfiger store also sits between Lululemon and J.Crew. It will carry men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. No opening date beyond “late 2026” has been announced.
Glo Tanning — late 2026. The 3,000-square-foot location describes itself as a “luxury sun spa.” It offers UV tanning, UV-free spray tans, and red light therapy. Glo Tanning is a franchise brand that launched its franchising program in 2019 and has grown to more than 100 locations across 15 states. The Tempe Marketplace store represents a significant Southwest market entry for the brand.
Taylor Alvey, vice president of leasing at Vestar, said the additions “reinforce Tempe Marketplace’s role as a destination where shoppers can discover the latest in fashion, outdoor and lifestyle experiences.”
Why Tempe Marketplace keeps landing first-to-market brands
Tempe Marketplace opened September 28, 2007, on 130 acres. It is co-owned and managed by Vestar Development Company and AEW Capital Management. The center sits at the interchange of Loop 101 (the Pima/Price Freeway) and Loop 202 (the Red Mountain Freeway), making it reachable from Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert without surface streets.
Open-air centers with that kind of freeway access have a leasing advantage right now. A brand entering a new market can open in a high-traffic outdoor format, skip the enclosed-mall model, and still reach the full metro. KUIU and Carhartt both fit that profile — brands with outdoor or working identities that would feel out of place inside a traditional mall.
Arizona State University’s main campus is also less than two miles away. That proximity gives lifestyle and fashion tenants access to a large, young, year-round resident base on top of the freeway-driven shopper traffic.
When each store opens and where to find them
Carhartt is open now at 15 S. McClintock Drive — the address that anchors the center’s eastern edge, accessible directly from McClintock Drive heading south off Rio Salado Parkway. Coach and Tommy Hilfiger are both located between the existing Lululemon and J.Crew stores; if you know where either of those is, the new stores will open in that same stretch. KUIU and Glo Tanning locations within the center have not been specified in announcements beyond the center address at 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway.
For freeway access: take Loop 101 to the Rio Salado Parkway exit heading east, or take Loop 202 to the Priest Drive or McClintock Drive exits heading north. Parking is surface-level and free throughout the open-air center.
