Placemakr Tempe, Apartments by Hilton opens December 2, 2026 at 1310 Vista Del Lago Drive. It sits inside Silverstein Properties’ Shorehaven community on Tempe Town Lake, minutes from ASU and downtown Tempe. The property has 87 units and is bookable right now.
If you live near Tempe Town Lake, here is what this opening puts on your doorstep
Think about what visiting Tempe looked like before this. Parents flying in for ASU graduation had two choices: a standard hotel room or a short-term rental. Neither fits every situation. Placemakr adds a third option — full apartments with real kitchens, right on the water.
That matters even if you live here and never book a room. Visiting family now has a comfortable, multi-bedroom option. It also brings more foot traffic to the lakefront. Guests cook some meals but also walk out for dinner. That steady flow benefits Shorehaven’s retail and dining spaces and nearby Mill Avenue too.
Hotels like this tend to accelerate retail build-out. They bring weekday visitors who spend money locally. They fill gaps between weekend peaks. The South Pier district is moving faster than many expected, and Placemakr’s arrival is a concrete sign of that momentum.
Shorehaven also adds boutique retail, dining, entertainment and office space to the lake corridor. That build-out is already underway.
What is Placemakr Tempe, Apartments by Hilton — and which tower is it in?
Placemakr is a hospitality company that embeds short-term stays inside residential apartment buildings. Guests get a real home — full kitchen, living room, in-unit laundry — while the building continues to function as a standard apartment community.
At Shorehaven, Placemakr occupies 87 units inside the Terra tower. Shorehaven has three towers: Terra, Flora, and Dune. Together they make up the 722-unit community.

Terra guests have access to a fitness center, pool, hot tub, lobby, and bar within the tower. Terra and Dune also share an amenity deck with grills and fire pits. Flora has its own private pool and hot tub.
Unit types run from studios to three-bedrooms. A solo traveler, a family visiting ASU, and a project team sharing a two-bedroom for a month all fit here. That range is the point.

Opening date, address and how to book — including Hilton Honors
The physical property opens December 2, 2026. Rooms became available to book on November 2 — a full 30 days early. That advance window matters if you have holiday travel or January plans already forming.
The address is 1310 Vista Del Lago Drive, Tempe. It sits minutes from the ASU campus and downtown Tempe.
Placemakr Tempe is part of Apartment Collection by Hilton, which Hilton launched in January 2026. Hilton Honors members who book through preferred Hilton channels can earn and redeem Hilton Honors Points. They also get access to instant benefits on eligible stays. That is the same points currency you use across Hilton’s full portfolio.

Apartment Collection by Hilton: a new brand category with six properties nationwide
Hilton created the Apartment Collection category in January 2026 to institutionalize home-style stays at scale. The brand launched alongside Placemakr and is designed to add up to 3,000 new apartment-style units to Hilton’s existing global inventory of roughly 10,000 such units.
Placemakr Tempe is one of six properties in the collection. The others are Scout Living PCM | Placemakr Atlanta, Placemakr Salt Lake City Downtown, Placemakr Pittsburgh Downtown, Anthem House – Placemakr Huntsville, and Placemakr Austin Downtown. Tempe is a founding property, not a future expansion.
This is also Placemakr’s second Arizona location. The first was Placemakr Downtown Phoenix at 311 North 1st Avenue. It opened October 30, 2025 with 120 units inside a 769-unit complex developed by GMH. Tempe follows about a year later — a deliberate pattern, not a one-off.
Placemakr CEO and co-founder Jason Fudin has said demand for apartment-style stays is outpacing supply in greater Phoenix. He noted the market has performed well over the past half-decade.
Shorehaven is only Phase 1 — here is what the full South Pier plan means for Tempe
Shorehaven is the first phase of South Pier, a $1.8 billion master-planned development on Tempe Town Lake. South Pier is a joint venture of affiliates of Cantor Fitzgerald and Silverstein Properties. Phase 1 — Shorehaven — delivers 722 luxury residential units and 26,000 square feet of retail across three towers.

The full plan calls for seven phases and 18 buildings over roughly 15 years. Future phases will add thousands more residential units and two hotels. They will also bring more than 600,000 square feet of high-rise office space, a multi-acre entertainment district, and an observation wheel.
Jamison Divoll is vice president of Development at Silverstein Properties. He described the vision plainly: “Shorehaven was envisioned as a dynamic, mixed-use community that brings together residential, retail, dining and hospitality in one of Tempe’s most distinctive lakefront settings.”
That vision is still early. But Placemakr’s arrival inside Terra is a concrete milestone. The hospitality layer of the master plan is no longer a rendering.
December 2 and what follows on the South Pier timeline
The immediate next date is December 2, 2026 — the physical opening of Placemakr Tempe, Apartments by Hilton. Bookings are open now through Hilton’s preferred channels.
South Pier’s remaining six phases do not have confirmed public timelines. The full build-out is projected to take roughly 15 years. Residents and investors near Tempe Town Lake should expect this corner to change repeatedly. Office towers, a second hotel, and an entertainment pier are all on the plan. None has a confirmed groundbreaking date in the public record yet.
If you are tracking the broader Tempe development corridor, a Marriott hotel is coming to the Novus Innovation Corridor near ASU. New dining and bar concepts are also opening along Mill Avenue in 2026. The South Pier opening adds another anchor to that momentum.
